From darkness to the light that empowers us to commit ourselves to good deeds, that which brings us closer to divinity; lights illuminate every corner of India during Diwali and the scent of incense sticks hang in the air, mingled with the sounds of fire-crackers, joy, togetherness and hope.
The celebration of Diwali, ‘The festival of lights’ came alive at Explore International School on 2nd of November. Welcoming the festival of lights, students have conducted a special school assembly with a small skit and a cultural dance, with the significance of the festival – how good always conquered the evil.
Students of Explore International School, unfolded their creative abilities in an Inter House Board Decoration Competition based on the theme “Green Diwali”, which brought out the essence of the festival-celebration of life and goodness. Students, through their posters talked about – why and how Diwali is celebrated across India. Through this, students tried to convey in their small way and taught us how this pious festival can be celebrated in other way than by just burning crackers and polluting the environment.
